OUR VALUES

CURIOUS. Life with God is sparked by curiosity. We ask him to awaken us to his goodness, beauty, truth, and work wherever they may be found.

PLAYFUL. We were made for joy, so we pursue a life together that is playful yet authentic, with room for both laughter and lament.

HOSPITABLE. The church is God’s family (and family is messy!), where strangers from diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds are woven together by grace.

LOCAL. God loves Manhattan Valley, and we bear witness to that love by serving the good of the people, places, and things we find here.

SENT. Through Jesus, God fills us with his life and love so that we might by transformed by them and carry them into every place.

Each of those values flow from three theological commitments that are the foundation of Grace & Peace Church:

• God is at work through his Word—the Bible—speaking his very life into the world.

• The Bible is the true story of God graciously working to bring peace to all things through his Son, Jesus.

• God pours his grace and works his peace into his world through the Church, his broken-yet-beloved people.
